The Alchemy of Acting is a transformational experience where the craft of acting becomes a profound tool for self-discovery, empowerment, freedom, and authentic expression.

This creative and interactive process is designed to help groups and individuals discover their truths, gifts and potential through play while organically and progressively stripping away everything in the way of their light. It also organically brings people more intimately together and in more integrity with their life and in their craft.

Blending improv, Meisner based acting technique, and Williamson / Laban movement techniques with an intuitive channeled process and allowance-based practices, this immersive experience invites you to move and play beyond performance, beyond your job and work — to a profound inner truth. This will shift your life and what you take away from this intensive, as an individual and an artist, you'll have for the rest of your life and with it, more of you.

WHO IS INVITED?

Whether you’re an actor, creative, or simply someone seeking to live more truthfully and vulnerably, this intensive master class is a journey from mask to essence, from character to more conscious creator.

No previous acting experience required — only a willingness to play and be seen while discovering and allowing more of you to come to life.

YOU'LL DISCOVER both on and off the stage:

  • A deeper sense of presence, trust, and truth within yourself and each moment

  • More awareness, vulnerability, and allowance to feel and be moved by your truth, your environment, and each other

  • More freedom, ease, heart, and trust. Less thought, hesitation, and anxiety

  • More embodiment, presence, radiance, and effect on your environment

  • Feeling parts of yourself you've forgotten

  • The magic of you and the Paradigm of Play

YOUR GUIDE:

Akana studied the Meisner, Williamson, and Laban Techniques at the William Esper Studio in NYC, the world's foremost studio dedicated to Meisner Technique based actor training. He studied there as a student and a teacher while pursuing acting, dance, and modeling.

He also trained with Moises Kaufman in his Moment Work and with the original Meisner Neighborhood Playhouse Faculty members Robert X. Modica and Freddy Kareman. In 2008 he moved down to Asheville, NC, and in 2010 co-founded the Stella Adler Acting Studio in Asheville, NC and in 2012, The New York Studio for Stage and Screen Meisner Conservatory for the Southeast (NYS3). He was the artistic director of LEAD Productions and NYS3 Presents, an intimate talk series for industry professionals that included Brian Cranston, Kelly McGillis, Sabrina Le Beauf, Zach Galifianakis, and Josh Brolin among others.

Since unexpectedly becoming a transmedium and conscious channel in 2017, Akana has expanded and amplified his abilities as a teacher and student of the craft.

TESTIMONIALS

“After having the privilege of working with Akana over the past six years, I honestly believe that he is one of the best clinicians in the business. His knowledge base and experience level are undeniable. The work and theories of Meisner, Kaufman, Adler, and Bogart are well within his wheelhouse and easily accessible. However, where Akana really shines is in his ability to interpret those theories and apply them to even the most inexperienced artists. He connects in a way that both challenges and affirms his students. Consequently, he is able to peel away barriers that keep students from finding honesty and creating a real experience for the audience.”

"Thank you again for everything you’ve done for me-not just acting/career wise, but also for completely changing my life in such an incredible way. You helped me to find me, to be ok with being me, and to learn to be seen and to be heard. You’ve helped me to follow my heart and to learn to connect to the world and to others like I never imagined. You’ve taught me to love myself (which I’m working on) and to get rid of judgement. You taught me the importance of leaning into the fear and how it’s all perfect. You made me proud to be an artist for the first time in my life and made me realize that my voice and what I have to say is important. You showed me what it feels like to truly be alive and you helped me to discover what life really is."

"With the utmost sincerity, it is difficult to articulate the highest recommendation possible for Akana. The profound depth of his talents are so vast, one would need to read a book about him. Or as I did, take the journey to allow him to transform you. I've been blessed to have many great teachers both academically and professionally. However Akana is someone I will always credit as one of my greatest teachers.

One could spend their life savings on degrees, training programs, and books. Your time would be better spent allowing Akana to transform you. He will lead you on a personal journey few are fortunate to experience, grounding you in the present moment, helping you to see and to love yourself for the unique person you truly are. I'm confident he will enhance your career. But more importantly, he will enhance deeper relationships with the world around you."
